George VI Sterling Silver & Enamel Compact
This beautiful George VI sterling silver and enamel antique powder compact is of square form and with internal mirror.
The anterior surface is embellished with an enamel panel depicting a group of traditional fishing vessels possibly from Asia. There is a minute piece of enamel missing by the thumb clasp which is barely noticeable.
The enamel panel is bordered with a band of bead and spindle decoration.
The reverse of the compact, is embellished with a panel of engine turned decoration.
This lid opens to reveal the original integrated mirror and powder compartment which retains the original gilding . Hallmarked to base. Makers mark for Henry Clifford Davis.
