A wonderful mid 19th Century oil on canvas of Highland cattle being herded along a track.
Tomson Laing was a Scottish landscape and coastal painter, most of whose works contained horses or farm animals. He was a Glasgow based artist who exhibited between 1890 and 1904 at the Glasgow Institute, the Royal Scottish Academy and the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.
There is loss of paint to top left hand corner and the painting is unframed. We would be able to have the painting cleaned and restored professionally at cost if you so wished.
